A calculator, harmonized with the latest guidelines, has been added to determine an initial regimen for vancomycin, or to perform calculations when two serum levels are available, for serious MRSA infections (Am J Health-Syst Pharm 2020;77(11):835-864).

The advantage of the calculator is its availability from a patient's review screen and the import of demographic and clinical data needed for calculations. In the initial regimen calculator, it is also possible to choose the desired formula for the volume of distribution calculation (J Clin Pharm Ther 2021;00:1-7). The formulas used are described in each step of the process, and the final recommendation can be printed and placed in the patient's file.
